Oakville Restaurant Shares Cooking Recipes and Tips with Kids
Hi everyone!Today we got to go to one of Chef Julia’s restaurants and film a segment for an upcoming fitforafeast video for our Fitforafeast Youtube Channel. She shared some really tasty family recipes including chicken parmesan, gnocci, a tasty appetizer treat and more.
We learned how to cut sweet potatoes using a big sharp knife – the secret with that is to cup your hands so the thumb goes under (feels funny at first, but saves your thumb!) and also to use a sharp knife. Another cool tip was to keep the tip down when cutting and to feel secure when using a knife. This takes some practise to get used to, so practise with adult supervision, but watch the new video we will put out soon because Julia’s son Alex will show you exactly how to use a knife in the kitchen safely right from the restaurant kitchen. We are excited to have been able to visit a professional chef in a pro kitchen with some great tips for kids to be able to make some really great tasting (and healthy) food. So visit youtube.com/fitforafeast in December, 2010 to see this new series of videos and let us know what your favorite food is.

Tae Kwon Do for Kids – 10 Year Old Black Belt
Taekwondo for Kids – 10 Year Old Black Belt
Tae Kwon Do teaches self defense and discipline. Some kids achieve their black belt at 10 years old already and there are a total of 9 levels of black belt. Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art.
Not only is Taekwondo great exercise but trains muscles and increases self confidence. Sloane and Katrina visit with a local 10 year old black belt and learn about the martial arts training and what patterns are.
